Warhammer Story Snippet: War Correspondence

August 24, 2009

Gaming/Fiction Geektude Alert: The following is a bit for the longstanding and very strange Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay campaign The Legacy of the Gods. I’ve posted a number of other things from this campaign to this blog, and here’s another. It’s not especially polished, but such it is.

It’s a letter written by herr Uhlrik Gunderit der Größerdrache to Finubar, the 11th (and current) Phoenix King of Ulthuan, regarding certain aspects of the war that they are engaged in. This letter was written during the passage back towards Naggaroth from Marienburg and given to Ludwig before Uhlrik departed on his possibly suicidal quest into the wastes, for eventual delivery to Finubar or his representative. It also helps highlight an important shift in relationships between the Phoenix Throne and the Dragon Brethren.

Anyhow, let the geektude commence…

Uhlrik Through New Eyes

Uhlrik Portrait by Unyko

My friend was itching to test out new techniques for her watercolor pencils and asked for volunteers to offer some characters of their design. Naturally, I offered Uhlrik.  Her original post with some other busts on it is here.

I like her style, and have hoped for some time that she’d draw the big guy, and I’m happy with the results now that she has. It is pretty interesting to see how someone with a very different art background from myself (IE a girl who mostly draws cute semi-anime-ish anthro animals) depicts  UberGoatBoy.  >:-D

SAD: Uhlrik Will Never Forgive Me

SAD: Warhammer Caramelldansen
by *uhlrik on deviantART

Today’s SAD is… wrong. I have submitted Uhlrik to what may be the ultimate indignity: performing the Caramelldansen dance. Why, I don’t know. I bet he lost a bet with Cassandra. She certainly looks happy enough to be shaking what her momma gave her.

He is… less enthusiastic.

There are a couple of small appropriated images worked in here as well. Can you identify them?

Yeah, I know it’s an old meme, but for some reason this idea popped into my head and wouldn’t go away. Like that frakking song…
