I Just Had An Apostrophe!

This post is apropos of nothing.

Just a short while ago, for some odd reason my memories jumped back to Hook, that very entertaining 1991 film about Peter Pan. Specifically, it went back to a certain incident involving James Hook and his inimitable bosun, Mr. Smee.

As a horde of screaming Lost Boys descend on Hook’s pirate ship, Hook shouts, “Do something intelligent, Smee!”

Ever the dutiful bosun, Smee complies: he retreats to the captain’s cabin, steals everything that isn’t nailed down and runs away from the raging battle.

That’s a great moment.

You know, while Robin Williams was good in that film (he almost always is), Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins completely stole that movie from him. Just like a pair of dirty pirates.

Avast!

And the annoying lost boys nearly ruined the film. I have to fast forward most of their scenes to make the film enjoyable to watch.

That is the best Peter Pan movie of all time.

    Yes, yes it is.

They do totally bite. Hook and Smee are utterly awesome, however. I actually cheered when Hook stabbed Rufio.

I agree completely. I love all the adults in the film and even like the novelisation of the film but the children. UGH. The film could have been so much better.

I liked the touch about how wonderland needs Hook.
