No One Can Stop Me!!

Which Soul Calibur 2 Character are you?

You are Siegfried. You are a basic, normal human driven by his desire for redemption and justice. You weild a huge Zweihander sword. You are one of the few to aquire Soul Edge, yet it transformed you from mere madman into monster… a transformation that ultimately paved the way for you to make the conscious choice to reject the darkness.

You are strong and stalwart, and have much more finesse than meets the eye.

The quiz totally missed the point of Siegfried Schtauffen, so I fixed it a bit. It seems to think he’s a normal dude with a big sword. Going by the backstory, that dude’s really never been normal. In game one, he’s a madman that went mad after mistakenly committing patricide. Nutjob boy (who of course has convinced himself that he’s on a noble quest to avenge his father) obtains the Soul Edge and transforms into the mutant monstrosity Nightmare (leading to Game 2). When Soul Edge’s hold on him is weakened in his defeat by Xianghua (end of 2), he regains enough lucidity and decides to take responsibility for his actions, setting forth to seek redemption… but only in his waking hours, for in his sleep the Sword uses him to butchery and eventually turns him back into Nightmare (SC 3).

Eventually he finally overcomes the Sword’s hold over his will in a mind-war when Raphael’s dying blow pierces its eye. After this, he becomes a sort of paladin seeking redemption and to seal away the Soul Edge for eternity even while fighting off vengeance-seekers.

Yeah, really normal.

But yeah, Siegfried’s my favorite character in that franchise for many reasons. Not the least being actual character development.

You dare to call Nightmare a monstrosity?! Impudent human!

Guess who my favourite is? It ain’t Siegy, I’ll tell you that for free.

  2. uhlrik Says:

He is a monstrosity, but that’s why I like him too. And frankly, I consider he and Siegfried to be the same guy since, well, they are… or were until Nightmare took on a separate physical existence in SCIII. Hence, my esteem for the one includes the other.

  3. creativedv8tion Says:

I’d say that’s really appropriate or something, except I’d be lying, b/c I have no fucking clue about Soul Calorie or pretty much any game like that.

But, glad you got your fave character and glad to hear that there’s actual character development going on. That’s a good thing.

  4. uhlrik Says:

I always know I can count on you to be, er… supportive…

Consider me your own personal support hose.
