Art-post, or something.

Oh, just posted a couple of PaxImp related pieces on Devart:

A new drawing of our favorite arbitratrix.

A colored pic of the bounty hunter, Captain Derrel Talbot.

I’m in process of making a bunch of colored icon-sized pics for various
figures from the PaxImp setting and storylines. I decided that Derrel
needed his whole pic colored though rather than the partial treatment
I’m doing for the icons. Once I’ve done a few more of the icons I’ll
start posting them too, though they’ll go straight to journal rather
than to DevArt

Yes, we can save the debate on absurd body types for another day. 😉

The Atrbitrators (-trix being the female form of the -tor masculine suffix, as in aviator/aviatrix, Imperator/mperatrix plus of course the ever-popular dominator/dominatrix) are essentially the troops and suppression/anti-insurgency/whatever forces of the Adeptus Arbites, which is essentially the federal police in a harsh galactic empire called The Imperium of Man, or more commonly The Imperium. They aren’t concerned with petty crimes like pickpocketing or the like (though if they catch you doing that stuff they’ll gladly smite you for it), it’s treason, civic disorder, rebellion and the like that are their jurisdiction. One of their biggest assignments is keeping an eye on the governments of local planetary governors to make sure they don’t bolt the Emperor’s fold, skimp on their tithes or the like. Taranih here has been indoctrinated with a lifetime of propaganda, and lives to enforce the Pax Imperialis by any means necessary (at least any that aren’t heretical).

Interesting fellow. What’s with the documents hanging off his cape thing? Oh and you know who he reminds me of with those extremely large shoulders… Sho Nuff- the “Shogun of Harlem” from a movie called “The Last Dragon” (you probably haven’t seen it)

I assume you mean this guy?

Early in the movie he comes into a theater that’s showing a Bruce Lee film and he is wearing these football shoulder pads that he has “done up” to look all tough. The name is pretty good. I’ll give you that. But he has a really bad attitude.

Aside from getting into the whole unrealistic, barbie-doll body image debate, I like the girl. (Even with the totally unbelievable small waist she has!) But what exactly does an “arbitratrix” do? She doesn’t look like a “let’s have a meeting and talk it out” kind of person to me. Is that why suffix “-trix”? 🙂 Just wondering.

I’ve also just colored a pic of her top planetary superior. His title is Marshal of Court.

The documents are writs of authority, purity seals, excerpts from the Codex Imperialis and that sort of thing. Also note that his shoulder plates extend well beyond his actual shoulders (though even those are cartoonishly broad here).

I haven’t seen the film, but I approve of anybody called the Shogun of Harlem.

That’s the one! LOL…but he’s the bad guy.
