Miyagi-San, rest well.

Pat Morita Dies At 73

It’s a testament to this fine actor’s comedic and dramatic gifts as
well as his ability to inspire others that, he was nominated for an
Oscar for his role as Mr. Miyagi even though this and virtually every
other role he ever got was utterly typecast and many were pretty
exploitative of his ethnic background as well. As others have pointed
out, whether The Karate Kid depicted genuine martial arts or not, it
inspired many youngsters to seek the real thing, and to try to become
something more than they were before. So Mr. Miyagi was a fine sensei
anyhow. Farewell, and be at peace.
